Each school has developed its own plan for the inclusion of new technologies in the process of school education and received funds for the implementation of this plan, in particular the purchase of hardware and software and staff training. The project found that: When used in the educational process modern technologies, significantly improved their school results in national tests; Improved atmosphere in the classes, mainly through the use of modern presentation techniques, which influenced also better interaction between student and teacher; Students can personalize their process more education have a greater choice of education path and able to learn in different ways, according to your personal preferences; Teachers and students could work better defining the objectives to be assessed, and the teachers found it easier to formulate the assessment of individual students; The introduction of supplementary education schools preparing platforms resulted in a greater possibility of student learning at the place of residence, and information management systems have proven to be more effective and efficient for both teachers and students. Improved student behavior and level of participation in the activities through the use of electronic registration system. The introduction of new technologies in teaching led to a fundamental change in the work of teachers and managers, making administration and support staff could take on greater responsibilities. Photo of part of the administrative duties of teachers allowed them to increase their level of involvement in the education of students. Also improved teachers’ skills in using new technologies in teaching, but also self-education. It has also improved management skills.
The introduction of learning management platform allowed them to quickly search for required materials, store, share with other teachers, and create new or modify previously used educational tools. The results of the research was particularly pleased Minister Jim Kinkaid, responsible for education. “New technologies have long been helping teachers to raise standards of teaching in our schools while preparing young people for the economy based on knowledge. Therefore, since 1998. Invested £ 5 billion in information and communication technologies in schools – multiplying the ratio of computers to the number of pupils in primary schools, introducing interactive multimedia boards, and providing virtually every school access to broadband Internet. “This study is proof that the information technology and communications have power to change the ways of learning both in school and beyond. The integration of modern technologies in the school can effectively support teachers in the teaching process, increase the activity of students, as well as turn their parents in their children’s education. The final study report is available on the website of the ICT Test Bed. Today we have the World Information Society Day. This is not a date that specifically stimulates schools and universities to act, even though it should. In fact, this is also the feast of educational technology, the day on which we should reflect on how best to take advantage of the wealth of digital devices to learn (a) more effectively, build knowledge-based society. It is also a special day for Edunews.pl – pass two years from the start of the official portal network. Nearing 1000 articles devoted to substantive modern education … This is a huge resource from which much can be read when you want to make changes in the education system at the highest level, but also at school level, or even class.
The world is going on and it is worth a lot of benefit from the experience of others, to share experiences, to experiment. With such a two-year luggage of thought and opinion, quite recently I helped a long interview to the latest issue of the monthly About school. The conversation led by Adam Smith. *** Adam Smith: On the website you can find a lot of educational portals, but you decided two years ago to build the next – Edunews.pl. Why such a decision, and – how do you think – why environmental education is increasingly looking for news, comments, reports, studies precisely at: www.edunwews.pl? Marcin Polak: That’s right, you will find many online educational portals, more or less professional. Many of them are really limited to the duplication of public information on the functioning of the education system, or simply publish teaching materials created by teachers.
There is little in the Polish Internet creative and broad approach to education. In Edunews.pl we try to avoid copying information from other sites, and if it is, use them to the extent in which they fit in with the general idea of the portal. Creating Edunews.pl wanted to show that you can create an interesting portal szufladkowanej education not only to the category of “news from the education system.” Education as a process after something much broader and goes beyond the Polish borders. Is universal – some processes in education, for example under the influence of new technologies globally will affect the way of education and learning throughout the world. It is worth to write about it, because our eyes is changing the way we teach and learn. Until the Edunews.pl there was no such educational portal that would address education on a global scale, approached the Polish audience, often after having trouble with language skills, topics that may be a moment also important for Polish schools, teachers and students. We operate more than two years, from February 2008, but the official start of the portal occurred when symbolic: the World Information Society Day.
We decided to create a portal for modern education to take place in a world full of information and knowledge, which is committed to continuous research: innovation, new research results, experiences. I think that the proposed formula we educational portal – showing education on a global scale, research, trends, experiences, solutions, but also show how the actions undertaken in Poland (and we have nothing to boast about in the world!) Fit in with global trends, attracting more and more new users. We have just a lot of unique and interesting content that can explain what is really going on in this education and we are heading towards. This sets us apart! In 2009. In the review of educational portals published in the journal e-Mentor, we have been listed as one of the two most valuable educational websites in the Polish Internet.
Scholaris next to which the Ministry of Education issued after millions of dollars … We are pleased that the educational environment appreciates us and we promise that we will continue to deliver good quality. AK: What is the unquestionable success of the Lord require? I ask about the creation of the concept of the portal, its conduct, the search for reliable sources of information, raise money for their activities, etc. MP: The most important is the idea. From him to realization he does not have a long journey.
Today we have enormous opportunities to create valuable resources on the web. Develop your own portal does not require large financial outlays, because really decent services can be created using open source tools (eg. Joomla Google websites). Real trouble begins when the service has already created. As we revise educational websites we come across hundreds of sites and pages, which were created, but then froze.
You can see when their content, or that nothing is going on there, or become rubbish dumps Internet, which goes incidental information, whatever falls into the eye of the editorial. And this is the main challenge facing even before the creators of websites. It does not matter how much money you invest in the portal. When you run out of clever and active editors, service falls. So its time loud fell Scholaris. Multi-million dollar investment, and then a big flap.
It is a pity that work … Keeping ambitious portal requires a lot of their own work and self-denial or a lot of financial resources to build a solid editorial staff. Edunews.pl is a small private initiative and created in full for essay writer reddit small private money. Small advertising revenue to finance part of the expenses associated with his conduct. The success of the portal decide first of all: a consequence of the implementation of the idea by our micro-editors of outside assistance and good spirits education, or people who see the value of this service and they want to see in its pages to share your thoughts with others. Authors who make up the community Edunews.pl is a lot, but I would like to mention first of all, two people who very much helped and contributed: Taraszkiewicz Margaret and Peter Julian Sawińskiego. I take advantage of the opportunity and so very, very hot thank them for the activity and support.
I would like to authors such was much more, but in Poland, I have a feeling, we have a problem of courage to speak on educational topics. Especially teachers should speak as often as possible, but do not. They are intimidated by their directors? They are afraid to present their views? Educational debate in Poland is very poor, if at all, we can talk about a debate. There is not any problems with this reliable sources of information. In Edunews.pl do we know about the processes of educational services and the media from around the world – for example, the United Kingdom, the United States, Korea, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, the Scandinavian countries, and of course the many Polish, great resources created by organizations NGOs (CEO), the media (PAP Polish Science, Education and dialogue), educators (here mention at least two: Witek Kołodziejczyk blog: Education and the future Leszek Hojnackiego services under the banner of Web 2.0 in education.
Education Web 2.0). AK: Who benefits mainly the rich resources and EDUnews or “reverse email” you will receive from its customers their opinions, suggestions, proposals? MP: The service is open to all who are interested in changes in education. Most users have with schools and universities, but also from institutions okołoszkolnych. Often visited by school principals and teachers (various subjects), who seek inspiration in our publications to change, development, and improve the quality of communication, but also comments on the usefulness of education in digital educational tools.
We enjoy reading our employees educational publishers, who talks openly admit that we are for them a real mine of information useful in their daily work. We also help promote the valuable educational initiatives of non-governmental organizations and maintain close cooperation with them. Many interesting is happening around the school, especially in those areas in which the school does not have space for new classes. It is a show, and hence non-governmental organizations and their staff are no strangers to our pages. We have a lot of feedback on our business.
We often receive emails or notes of thanks, we perform at conferences and meetings, we show “education on the run.” We collect a lot of opinion about the website and then we try to respond to the demand. AK: How to this portal will be developed in the near future, ie. What substantive accents will still be introduced or appreciation? MP: Our goal is to familiarize Polish customers changing landscape of education. Here we are consistent from the very beginning the portal – we intend to more space devoted to the experience of educational institutions with the introduction of innovative solutions in the educational and academic, publish interesting results of research on education and carried out in research centers around the world, a lot of space will be devoted to education technology for use by teachers.
In the latter case it is not our goal show and enchanted by successive technological novelties, but carefully watching this, which can be better and more widely used for the benefit of learners in schools and universities and for the competence development of teachers. We also encourage you to experiment, to break the fear of digital tools to open educational practice to new ways of working. We are very keen on fostering grass-roots debate on educational topics. We can not talk about education only if the information activities to mobilize the Ministry of Education or the trade unions. Do not be afraid to praise and to propose solutions that can bring a lot of good Polish schools and universities. We invite all who care about the development of education to send their opinions and comments.
And if someone is afraid to publish under his own name – after all, you can be under a pseudonym. Talk, komunikujmy in collabo – today good education depends on good communication and not just a teacher with students in the classroom, but also within the entire community of educators who are responsible for the development of the school. AK: Let’s talk about education itself. After numerous reforms, adjustments and changes it has a chance to give practical and useful education for young Poles? MP: It depends on what we’re talking education.
If a formal system of education, I doubt it. As if not to look, a new core curriculum is still overloaded with theory and practical education in it as a cure. Changes in the practical education was not enough. Even the most vitally useful object, which should be a learning enterprise, has become a collection of general theories and information that are needed nohow young people to happiness. Where is the development of entrepreneurial attitudes?
Or look deeper – we have one of the highest in the European Union unemployment of young people aged 18-24 years. According to CSO data, youth unemployment remains high and growing. This is evidence that long-term reforms, adjustments and changes in the education system nothing else young Poles did not give – still do not know how they cope in the labor market. And they learn in order to cope. Polish school does not educate the needs of the modern economy, nor the needs of the knowledge economy, to which model going.
What, therefore, educates Polish school? To happiness? Self-sufficiency? What else, if we look at the non-formal education. To a large extent the burden of practical education rests today on non-governmental organizations that are trying to implement programs in schools equip young people with the basic competence useful in adult life. The basis for the development of youth projects – participating in these various initiatives and preparing students gain a much more valuable skill than hanging out for hours in the pews.
Who will teach the method of work of the project at the school, you will be able to communicate well with members of the organizing team, will not be afraid of making decisions – this can handle in life.
